Volunteering At Sandhurst

Did you know that our club is run entirely by volunteers?

It takes over 100 volunteers across junior and senior football and netball every week to make our sport happen!

We always need more help, and volunteering is one of the most positive and powerful ways you can help your player/family/club.

There are a range of jobs you can help with every week, from the easy occasional roles, to the key enabling roles, see below for where you can help and how to engage.

Senior Home Game Match Day Volunteer tasks:

  • Home game set up - check/clear grandstand and surrounds, blow clean netball courts, set up marquees, BBQ’s, outdoor bars, etc  – starts 8:30am for about 1hr – 4-5 to assist
  • Staffing the BBQ, typically from end of U18’s up to midway through the Seniors game– Ideally 4-6 volunteers to rotate through
  • The Outside Bar – starting after the U18’s until end of Seniors – 6 to 8 volunteers to rotate through this during the day and manage re-stocking.
  • The Netball Bar setup during the U17’s and open after it finishes – 2-3 helpers.
  • Packing up at the end of the day, quick tidy up around the grounds (after seniors games finish) – 5 or 6 to assist to get it done quick and then into the Den for a refreshment.

Taking on the BEST roles at the club:

Why are these the best – because of the sense of real achievement and contribution, the experience and friendships you gain, the true feeling of being part of a team that is doing something truly special.

  • Club Committee member
  • Junior subcommittee member
  • A club co-ordinator role (eg: Social events managers, past players co-ordinators, special projects managers, club historians, Equipment co-ordinators, membership registrars, and so many more – see the options here – Club Roles
